Claire Shanholtzer PharmD

While I am originally from Hurricane, West Virginia, I am honored to pursue my PGY-1 pharmacy residency here at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. The supportive and family-like environment played a role in my decision to complete my residency here. The unique pharmacy experiences that UPMC McKeesport has to offer in a medically underserved community, addiction medicine, and diverse populations will provide me with the knowledge I need to help communities within my home state. Growing up in rural West Virginia, where access to healthcare was limited, developed my passion for providing care to patients in a medically underserved area. My career interests include psychiatric pharmacy, infectious disease, and ambulatory care pharmacy.

My hobbies include spending time with my family, doing anything outdoors, and spending time with my cat Prince Louis.
