Dr. Emeil Shenouda is a graduate of the Cairo University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt and completed his internship in Cairo. He served as a general practitioner in a military hospital in Egypt before coming to the US. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at UPMC McKeesport in 2003. During residency he served as chief resident and earned multiple patient advocate and academic awards. After graduating from residency, Dr. Shenouda relocated to Blair County, PA where he opened a private practice in an underserved area. He returned to UPMC McKeesport in 2010 to join the faculty of the Family Medicine Residency Program. Before becoming the Associate Program Director, Dr. Shenouda served as Medical Director of Latterman Family Health Center. Dr. Shenouda’s interests include in-patient, urgent care as well as global health. He also enjoys co-leading the program’s Balint sessions. He returns to Egypt frequently to provide health care to rural areas.
